1. Friends
Friends has to be the favourite of many 90s kids! I love it. Every situation I feel like you can sort of relate to. I've not watched it much since it stopped airing on E4/channel 4 in the UK. I remember how much I love it when I visit my own friends, and they watch it on Comedy Central. It's always on then!
2. Gilmore Girls
This is my favourite show and I'm so unbelievably excited that it is coming back! I find it so relatable because I'm close to my mum like the two main characters, Lorelai and Rory. I've always loved Lorelai's quirky sense of humour, independence and ambition to make herself better despite getting pregnant at 16. Rory was the one I kind of looked up when I started watching it. I started watching it when I was 15/16 and followed some of her intelligent habits such as always packing a book to read in my bag (even if I didn't read it), she was also an aspiring journalist at a time I was.
I could go on for hours saying many other reasons I love it such as the weird town events Lorelai and Rory go to, the developments in their romantic lives, their friendships and the funny dynamic that Lorelai has with her parents, Emily and Richard.
3. Dexter
I love Dexter. I feel like I can't properly explain why without spoiling it completely. I will say that watching it encouraged me to read the books, and that the character of Dexter is gorgeous. The title sequence where you see him putting on his white t-shirt is so HOT!
4. Pretty Little Liars
To me, you can describe Pretty Little Liars as a dark version of Gossip Girls. It is wonderful.
I have to admit that my love of the show disminished for a short time when the show went forward in time during series 6. However the twists and turns to find out about who A is...it is brilliant and clever. It is a girly drama, which makes it easy viewing with lots of revelations in terms of relationships, jobs, family life and much more. It is also thrilling and terrifying at the same time, as it covers themes of murder and deceit.
5. The Big Bang Theory
I actually have this on in the background as I write this post! The Big Bang Theory tells the story of four clever men as they struggle in relationships despite being really clever. I watch it mainly for the exceptionally intelligent, yet annoying Sheldon.
6. Impractical Jokers
This is just a recent discovery since I don't have sky. When visiting friends, I found myself addicted! It follows four guys pulling jokes on each other. The four are best friends and get each other doing silly things from embarrassing themselves in the gym, fast food restaurant, meeting people etc. Sal is my favourite because he's gorgeous. Joe makes me laugh as he has a real serious face no matter what he's told to do. Murr always seems to lose as he's too polite. Q has a funny laugh! Funny how I picked the one picture without Sal...
7. Orange is the new black
8. Breaking Bad
I feel like I was very late in discovering this one, but would recommend to anyone. Unlike both Dexter and Orange Is The New Black, I wasn't hooked on this immediately. The character of Walt annoyed me. However I caught a few of my friends watching series 5 and realised that it was worth another try! I give the same advice to anyone - stick with it! I was into series 2/3 before I really started to like it and realise how different it was to most programmes.
9. Full House
I wish I had discovered this programme earlier in life. I only started watching it this year, much to the distress of my mother. I think she thought I'd lost it. She hated children's programmes when I was a kid, let alone being forced to watch it again. It teaches kids good morals with a bit of humour and family fun!
